Tacoma Public Schools

Tacoma Public Schools is a school district in Tacoma, Washington, that serves more than 30,000 students across 36 schools. The district is committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students and offers a range of programs to support their academic, social, and emotional growth. Tacoma Public Schools has taken steps to address mental health issues in schools, including providing counseling services, partnering with community organizations to offer mental health resources, and training staff to recognize and respond to mental health concerns.

MultiCare

MultiCare is a healthcare organization that operates hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare facilities throughout Washington State. MultiCare has made significant contributions to addressing mental health issues in the region, including establishing a dedicated Behavioral Health Center in Tacoma. The center provides a range of services, including psychiatric evaluation and treatment, substance abuse treatment, and counseling for individuals and families. MultiCare also offers community-based programs, such as support groups and outreach services, to promote mental wellness and address the stigma surrounding mental health issues.

UW Tacoma

UW Tacoma is a branch campus of the University of Washington located in Tacoma, Washington. The campus offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs in a range of fields, including social work, nursing, and psychology. UW Tacoma has a strong commitment to community engagement and has made significant contributions to addressing mental health issues in the region through research, education, and outreach. Faculty and students at UW Tacoma conduct research on mental health issues and work with community organizations to develop and implement programs to improve mental wellness and provide access to mental health resources.
